The wedding dress that stopped traffic

This wedding gown is the centrepiece of a wedding dress exhibition held at the National Museum of Singapore from Aug 8 to Oct 31. It was worn by Margaret Whigham, later to become Duchess of Argyll, for her 1933 wedding to Charles Sweeny. Designed by Norman Hartnell, the dress caused so much publicity that it blocked traffic in Knightsbridge for 3 hours.
